Vinicius Jr secured a first-half hat-trick as Real Madrid dominated Barcelona, securing a 4-1 victory in the Spanish Super Cup final.

In the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona, Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr paid homage to former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo by incorporating Ronaldo’s iconic “Siuuu” celebration after scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute. Vinicius Jr proceeded to complete a first-half hat-trick as Real Madrid secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Barcelona, with Ronaldo in attendance for the match.

Vinícius Jr expressed his happiness with the Real Madrid team, stating, “I’m so happy with this team, we’re doing special things at Real Madrid, and Saudi people always show me their love.” In the Spanish Super Cup final held in Riyadh, Vinícius swiftly took control of the match, scoring his first goals since returning from a lengthy injury absence in the seventh, 10th, and 39th minutes. This marked Vinícius’ third match since his injury sustained during a World Cup qualifier with the Brazil national team in November.

Vinícius Jr made a strong impact in the Spanish Super Cup final, opening the scoring with an assist from Jude Bellingham. He skillfully dribbled past Barcelona’s goalkeeper Iñaki Peña before finding the open net. The second goal came during a breakaway, assisted by Rodrygo, and the third was a penalty kick that Vinícius converted after being fouled by Araujo. Although Lewandowski pulled one back for Barcelona with a shot from inside the area in the 33rd minute, Real Madrid maintained control for the rest of the match, securing a comfortable victory.

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz and Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho showered praise on Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior for his exceptional performance in the Supercopa de Espana final against Barcelona. Vinicius dazzled in Riyadh on Sunday, netting a remarkable first-half hat-trick. Exploiting defensive errors from Barcelona, the Brazilian scored twice in just three minutes (7′, 10′). Additionally, he won a penalty after a foul by Ronald Araujo and successfully converted it in the 39th minute.

After Robert Lewandowski scored six minutes before Vinicius’ third goal, providing Barcelona with a glimmer of hope, Rodrygo’s 64th-minute strike secured a 4-1 victory for Real Madrid. Ronald Araujo’s red card seven minutes later further tilted the match in Carlo Ancelotti’s side’s favor, allowing them to claim their 13th Supercopa, just one behind Barcelona. Vinicius celebrated the triumph on Instagram, sharing a carousel of images featuring goal celebrations and the Player of the Match trophy. His caption expressed joy and gratitude for the team’s accomplishments.

Before the Supercopa final, Vinicius Junior faced a challenging period at Real Madrid, scoring only six times in 15 matches across competitions this season. His campaign was disrupted by injuries, with a hamstring injury sidelining him for four matches in September. Shortly after his return, a torn thigh muscle forced him to miss seven more games.

However, with a hat-trick against Barcelona, Vinicius has rediscovered his scoring form, bringing his tally to nine goals and four assists in 16 outings. Eager to maintain this momentum, he now looks ahead to the Copa del Rey Round of 16 against Atletico Madrid on Thursday, January 18.

Vinicius Junior showcased his brilliance against Barcelona, capitalizing twice on their lackadaisical high line to give Real Madrid a 2-0 lead within the opening 10 minutes. Despite Robert Lewandowski narrowing the deficit just after the half-hour mark, Vinicius completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 39th minute, drawing a foul from Ronald Araujo. In the second half, Rodrygo sealed the one-sided victory for Real Madrid. Adding to Barcelona’s woes, Araujo received a red card in the 71st minute for another foul on Vinicius.

Jude Bellingham showcased his playmaking prowess as he split the defense with a sublime pass, setting up Vinicius Junior to round Inaki Pena and calmly slot the ball into an empty net. Real Madrid and Vinicius exploited the space left behind once more, with the 23-year-old sliding in to convert Rodrygo’s well-delivered cross.
